Position Summary

 RSI is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager (Transmission Telecom Support) This position reports to the RSI Program Manager and supports the organization's mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence and competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, commitment to our community, accountability, and ownership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures optimal returns on TVA’s corporate facilities and real estate assets throughout the acquisition/disposal cycles.
  • Coordinates with other TVA organizations and provides input to appropriate management and executive management.
  • Leads an interdepartmental team to complete an assigned project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Outlines the tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly.
  • Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
  • Prepares and implements a budget based on estimates.
  • conducts risk assessments; reports identified risks to management; provides recommendations for mitigation of risk (including termination of the project if appropriate).
  • Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.

Key Requirements, Education, and Experience:

  • Directs telecommunication engineering work to optimize performance of equipment, apparatus, and facilities for large scale SCADA / Energy Management Systems (EMS).
  • Ensures engineering cost and schedule performance goals are met. 
  • Coordinates telecommunication system efforts regarding replication and standardization of SCADA / EMS engineering solutions, operations, and maintenance methodology.
  • Coordinates new energy management systems test and turn-up procedures.
  • Supports project engineers for assigned projects, including large, multi-discipline, and more complex projects including projects supporting regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinates telecommunication engineering work to optimize performance of equipment, apparatus, and facilities for SCADA / EMS systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes such as applicable IEEE standards and depth in SCADA  / EMS & Telecommunications Operations & Maintenance Processes.
  • Detailed knowledge of large-scale utility telecommunication systems required
  • BS Electrical Engineering degree with minimum 10 years large-scale utility telecommunications experience
  • Strong customer service; demonstrated planning/organizing skills, team building, and problem solving.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings related to the transmission system.
