Position Summary

RSI is recruiting for an Outreach Office Coordinator who will be responsible for serving as the primary point of contact  to the community at LM's Window Rock, AZ Outreach Office. This individual will provide office coordination and administrative support, assist with community outreach activities that support LM’s mission, support public affairs for Navajo Nation sites, cultivate relationships within stakeholder communities, share information that informs different audiences about LM activities, provide cultural perspective, and report on outcomes.

FLSA: Exempt
Hiring Range: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year. (The anticipated starting salary is based on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicant’s education, training, and experience.)

 

This position is required to travel 10-20% of the time.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the LM Window Rock, AZ office.
  • Provide administrative support and office/facility coordination for the Window Rock Outreach Office, including coordination with various LM/LMS teams, such as the Navajo Nation Public Affairs Team, Facilities, Realty, etc.
  • Responsible for providing support to the Navajo Nation Public Affairs Team and other LM outreach efforts on the Navajo Nation.
  • Support LM’s efforts for Navajo Nation sites with contractor operations staff, federal clients, and tribal partners, which includes but is not limited to programs and activities that inform and engage the public industry, and all levels of government about DOE’s activities.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to prepare, review, and manage accurate and timely correspondence, minutes, reports, and other documents.
  • Schedule and attend meetings with clients, colleagues, internal subject matter experts, and external stakeholders.
  • Draft meeting agendas, notes, and minutes, and coordinate their review, finalization, and distribution.
  • Maintain and update database of LM stakeholders with accurate and current contact information.
  • Coordinate business travel with LMS travel office and assist with expense reporting.
  • Manage and maintain Outlook calendars to include business travel, out-of-office availability, and other work-related details.
  • Attend and support meetings and events that inform stakeholders about LM’s work, mission, and priorities.
  • Support team in planning, coordination, and logistical support for public meetings, tours, open houses, and special events.
  • Responsible for gathering stakeholder input via face -to-face conversations, event surveys, and email input. Responsible for sharing results.
  • Participate in local community events (e.g., cultural activities, STEM events, community meetings, Community Outreach Network events, and other assigned events on Navajo Nation).
  • Cultivate a safety conscious work environment and model the behaviors described in DOE G 450.4-1C, Attachment 10.
  • Responsible for sharing information and working collaboratively throughout all levels of the LM/LMSP organization.
  • Serve as a contributing member of the LMSP ECHO team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in administration, business, communication, public affairs, or related field. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Associates degree – Minimum of four years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree – Minimum of three years of relevant experience.

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • No professional certification required.

 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Capability to provide administrative support.
  • Ability to speak and understand Navajo language.
  • Familiarity with the Navajo Nation and Hopi Tribe organizations/governments.
  • Experience building relationships and collaborating with tribal partners.

Essential Physical Requirements 

Medium: Work involves moving objects by exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an above-negligible amount and up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
