Position Summary

RSI is recruiting for a Public Affairs and International Activities Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, facilitation, and reporting of in-person and virtual meetings, events, and activities and supporting the creation and distribution of outreach materials, products, and services. This role involves a mix of administrative, logistical, and communication tasks aimed at ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Job Title: Public Affairs and International Activities Coordinator

Location(s): Grand Junction, CO

Status: Full-Time

FLSA: Exempt

Hiring Range: $58,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year. (The anticipated starting salary is based on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicant’s education, training, and experience.)

 

This position is required to travel less than 5% of the time.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development, implementation, facilitation, and reporting of in-person and virtual local, state, regional, federal, international, and tribal meetings, conferences, events, and activities.
  • Coordinate the creation and distribution of outreach materials, products, and services and manage organization and inventory of outreach supplies and coordinate shipping/receiving of supplies as needed in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to prepare, review, and manage accurate and timely correspondence, reports, and other documents, including gathering information, drafting, and submitting performance work statement submittals and formal contract deliverables, including collecting and analyzing data related to program performance and outcomes.
  • Provide administrative support for the various programs, including Public Affairs, International Activities, STEM with LM, and the Atomic Legacy Cabin.
  • Schedule and attend internal meetings and meetings with clients, colleagues and internal subject matter experts, and external stakeholders.
  • Draft meeting agendas and notes, and coordinate their review, finalization, and distribution.
  • Maintain project schedules.
  • Maintain and update database of LM stakeholders with accurate and current contact information.
  • Coordinate business travel with LMS travel office and assist with expense reporting.
  • Manage and maintain Outlook calendars to include business travel, out-of-office availability, and other work-related details.
  • Make approved purchases with government-issued purchase card in accordance with business services policies and procedures.
  • Identify and save records in accordance with information management policies and procedures
  • Coordinate SharePoint updates and configuration.
  • Coordinate with functional support groups, including Document Management and procurement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or Vocational/Technical school diploma. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
  • 6 years of relevant experience.

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Driver’s License.

 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent project coordination and management skills, including ability to prioritize and complete competing projects/priorities with aggressive due dates and quick turn-around times.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, MS Teams, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Superior organizational management and record keeping.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skill and Abilities

  • Experience supporting community outreach, international activities, media relations, STEM education and/or tribal, Congressional, or intergovernmental programs and activities for clients.
  • Expert writer/editor, including mastery of English grammar, AP and in-house style guides, and plain language.
  • Event planning and logistics coordination.
  • Ability to quantify results and outcomes.
  • Knowledge and experience in federal government agency and international protocols.
  • Formal project management certification and training.
  • Budget and cost accounting.
  • Experience communicating technical and/or scientific information to non-technical and or non-scientific audiences.
  • Familiarity working as a contractor for the U.S. government.
  • Experience with the U.S. Department of Energy and or Office of Legacy Management.
  • Familiarity with radioactive and chemical waste, environmental contamination, hazardous material and the associated long-term surveillance and maintenance, records management, work force restructuring and benefits continuity, property management, land use planning, and community assistance.

Essential Physical Requirements 

Sedentary: Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
