Job Summary:
RSI is excited to welcome an Environmental Project Manager to our Environmental Services Team. In this role, you’ll lead a diverse portfolio of groundwater investigation and remediation projects supporting the Department of Energy (DOE) at the Oak Ridge Reservation.
We’re looking for someone who brings fresh ideas and a solutions-focused mindset to navigating the CERCLA groundwater remedy process—from Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study (RI/FS) through Record of Decision (ROD) and into post-ROD implementation. You’ll play a key role in guiding projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met while delivering high-quality outcomes.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in geosciences, hands-on experience with project management and well drilling techniques, and familiarity with groundwater modeling and geophysical evaluations.
Success in this role requires both technical expertise and strong leadership skills. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, regulators, and stakeholders—so clear communication and teamwork are essential.
If you’re passionate about environmental remediation and want to make a meaningful impact on complex, high-visibility projects, we’d love to hear from you!

- Leads a small team of hydrogeologists and environmental scientists managing environmental cleanup projects for the DOE.
- Utilizes the earned value management system and/or project management principles to manage projects schedules and costs to ensure on-time delivery to the DOE customer.

- Works with groundwater technical team and specialty subcontractors to design and evaluate active groundwater remedies. This includes design of groundwater monitoring networks to support site characterization and remedy performance.
- Facilitates the Data Quality Objective (DQO) process for groundwater projects, leading multidisciplinary teams in identifying data gaps and subsequently developing a work plan that addresses those data needs.
- Works closely with field sampling and well drilling teams to ensure data are collected in accordance with work plans.
- Evaluates data generated by field activities to provide detailed interpretations of subsurface stratigraphy/structure, groundwater flow conditions, and nature and extent of contamination.
- Mentors junior hydrogeologists and environmental scientists through regular interactions and peer review of their work products.
- Regularly presents to and collaborates with DOE clients, regulatory agencies and other DOE contractors.
