Job Title: Field Geologist

Location(s): Grand Junction, CO

Hiring Range: $49,000 - $62,000/yr. (Depending on education, experience, and location)

Status: Full-Time

FLSA: Exempt

Job Description:

RSI EnTech, LLC is recruiting for Field Geologist who will support field activities such as well installation and soil sampling, aquifer testing, measuring water levels and flow rates. This position is based out of the Grand Junction facility and is required to be in the field at least 50% of the time.

 

Primary responsibilities and essential functions:

  • Describing lithology based on drill cuttings and core.
  • Preparing lithologic and well construction logs.
  • Performing slug testing and facilitating pumping tests.
  • Installing and maintaining transducers.
  • Downloading and processing transducer data and providing office technical support as needed

 

 

Work experience, skills, and capabilities needed:

  • Geological Knowledge

 

Technical knowledge, certifications/licenses, and software proficiency required:

  • Valid Driver’s License

 

Desirable qualifications, experience, or proficiencies of the ideal candidate:

  • Field characterization experience preferred
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Required Education and Years of Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Geology

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Medium Work Category - The employee exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 

 

Able to travel on uneven ground for several miles (2-4 miles) per day under adverse weather conditions. Much of the traveling is up and down hills.  Able to work in hot, cold, windy, and sometimes wet conditions.  Able to work alone for several hours per day in the field.

 

The employee is regularly required handle or feel, to reach, and communicate. The employee is frequently required to move about and maintain various positions. The employee must have the ability to perceive the environment and observe technical material and emails.
