Position Summary

RSI is recruiting for an Enterprise Data Analyst who will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Legacy Management's (LM) enterprise data architecture. Ensuring structured and unstructured data is organized, governed, secure, and accessible to support business operations and strategic decision-making. This position partners with Information Governance, Data Governance, Information Technology, Business Operations, and other business stakeholders to improve data quality, establish enterprise data standards, develop conceptual and logical data models, and support the organization's data maturity roadmap. This role helps transform data and information into trusted organizational assets while ensuring compliance with DOE policies.

FLSA: Exempt
Hiring Range: $100,000 - $115,000.00 per year. (The anticipated starting salary is based on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicant’s education, training, and experience.)

 

This position is required to travel less than 10% of the time.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain enterprise data architecture including conceptual, logical, and physical data models, metadata, business glossaries, taxonomies, and data standards.
  • Partner with business units to understand business processes, identify data requirements, and recommend improvements that increase data quality, accessibility, integration, and lifecycle management.
  • Support the Unified Governance Council and associated working groups by developing master data sets, data standards, business definitions, metadata, and governance practices.
  • Analyze enterprise data sources to identify relationships, redundancies, quality issues, and opportunities for standardization.
  • Collaborate with application owners, database administrators, business analysts, and developers to ensure enterprise solutions align with approved data architecture standards.
  • Research emerging technologies, industry standards, and best practices in enterprise data architecture, metadata management, master data management, analytics, and information governance.
  • Ensure enterprise data are managed according to DOE security requirements, privacy requirements, records management policies, and information governance standards.
  • Assist with developing the organization's enterprise data roadmap and support implementation of data maturity initiatives.
  • Support reporting, business intelligence, and analytics initiatives by improving the availability, consistency, and quality of enterprise data.
  • Document data flows, system integrations, data lineage, and metadata to improve organizational understanding and reuse of enterprise information assets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Information Management, Business Analytics, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in data architecture, data management, information architecture, business intelligence, analytics, or information governance.
  • Experience working with enterprise data, relational databases, metadata management, or business intelligence tools preferred.

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Preferred but not required: Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Information Governance Professional (IGP), Certified Records Manager (CRM), Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900), Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer, TOGAF Foundation.

 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of the principles of data science and enterprise data architecture.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata management, master data and reference data.
  • Knowledge of data quality principles.
  • Ability to create conceptual and logical data models.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Purview or other metadata/catalog tools is preferred.
  • Understanding of data lifecycle management.
  • Ability to create policy by translating business requirements into data requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience collaborating across business and IT organizations.
  • Experience documenting data definitions, business glossaries, and metadata.
  • Knowledge of records management and information governance principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams.

Essential Physical Requirements 

Sedentary: Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
