Job Title: Creative Services Manager

Hiring Range: $84 - $122K/yr. The offered salary may vary depending upon education, training, and experience of the selected applicant.

RSI EnTech, LLC is recruiting for a Creative Services Manager who will lead our communication products team, direct, and supervise staff, workflow, and projects, and is responsible for providing strategic graphic design, photography, videography, website, and editing support for the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Legacy management. This position may be required to travel 10% of the time.
Primary responsibilities and essential functions:
- Manage approximately 12 professional communicators with a broad range of skills and experience levels, including graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and editors
- Direct and guide the creation of digital and print products for internal and external audiences, such as web pages, fact sheets, posters, presentations, publications, brochures, social media, exhibits, and multimedia content
- Responsible for maintaining and improving visual identity standards and editorial style guide
- Clearly communicate and direct employees’ work activities and performance expectations and hold employees accountable for assigned roles, responsibilities, and standards by reinforcing expectations and providing ongoing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and performance management
- Share information and work collaboratively throughout all levels of the organization
- Proactively develop and implement innovative approaches to complex challenges
- Manage the overall creative services department’s operational, project management, and financial activities, including budget planning, reporting, and cost estimating
Technical knowledge, certifications/licenses, and software proficiency required:
- Demonstrated success creating and directing graphic design, photography, videography, website, and/or editing products strategies, programs, and activities
- Outstanding leadership, interpersonal relationship building, and employee coaching and development skills
- Proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud software (Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
- Excellent writing, editing, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service orientation; build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, direct reports, peers, senior managers, and individual contributors, including collaborating and sharing information
- Strong project management skills, including being organized with ability to prioritize and manage client expectations across multiple, competing projects/priorities with aggressive due dates and quick turn-around times
- Ability to receive and communicate sensitive topics with appropriate judgment and skill
- High degree of ingenuity, flexibility, team orientation, creativity, and innovation
- Can-do attitude and collaborative work style; flexibility and adaptability
- Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills
- Excellent record keeping and organizational management skills

Desirable qualifications, experience, or proficiencies of the ideal candidate:
- Experience leading or managing communications teams/individual contributors, including leading or supervising staff with a broad range of skills, work styles, and experience levels, including hiring, coaching, and workload calibration
- Budget management experience, including knowledge of basic budgeting, planning, and accounting principles and practices
- Familiarity with United States Government Publishing Office (GPO) printing standards
- Experience developing and implementing photo and video libraries
- Familiarity with Section 508 content accessibility standards
- Project management certification and/or accreditation
- Demonstrated experience connecting day-to-day activities and tactics with broader, higher-level organizational goals and objectives
- Demonstrated experience creating content and integrating communications for a variety of audiences, ability to distill complex technical information into understandable and engaging content
- Previous experience and success communicating technical and engineering information in a clear, precise, and compelling way
- General knowledge of various employment laws and practices and employee relations; demonstrated skill in dealing with legal and ethical management issues and practices
- Familiarity with radioactive and chemical waste, environmental contamination, hazardous material and the associated long-term surveillance and maintenance, records management, work force restructuring and benefits continuity, property management, land use planning, and community assistance
- Familiarity working as a contractor for the U.S. Government
- Experience with the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Legacy Management, and/or working as contractor to the federal government a plus
- Knowledge and experience in federal government agency protocols
Required Education and Years of Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, English, Multimedia, Visual Arts, Communications, Journalism, or related field of study. A minimum of 5 years’ experience is required.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
The employee exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The employee is regularly required handle or feel, to reach, and communicate. The employee is frequently required to move about and maintain various positions. The employee must have the ability to perceive the environment and observe technical material and emails.
