RSI is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Manager.  The Quality Assurance Manager plans and directs activities to develop, maintain, and provide leadership in the implementation of the Quality Assurance Program. Quality assurance includes all those planned and systematic actions necessary to assure implementation, using a graded approach, DOE Order 414.1D and the QA Rule (10 CFR 830, Subpart A, Quality Assurance Requirements) using NQA-1:2004 as a consensus standard in the planning and execution of work.  Quality control includes all those aspects of quality assurance, which provides a means of control and measures the characteristics of an item, process or facility to established requirements.  This position will involve increased emphasis on quality control monitoring of subcontractors and vendors.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision

  • Responsible for development, implementation and direction of the Quality Assurance programs to ensure compliance with DOE directives and contract requirements.
  • Applies advanced Quality Engineering theories, methods, and research techniques in the development, establishment, and maintenance of quality assurance/ control policies, procedures, and methods.
  • Leads project-wide system audits as directed by principal quality assurance engineer or program management.   
  • Support subcontractor readiness to perform field work.
  • Lead assessments and surveillances of subcontractor performance.
  • Generates quality plans, procedures, and audit checklists.
  • Verifies quality standards and test procedures for the design and product evaluation to achieve quality economically and efficiently.
  • Provides quality assurance support to ensure that products are acquired and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements.
  • Makes sure sampling plans, quality standards, and quality control instructions are utilized by manufacturing, test and inspection in assessing the quality levels of products and processes.
  • Provides recommendations concerning the disposition of defective materials and maintains a continuous awareness of quality problems.
  • Prepares training materials and conducts training on quality control activities.   
  • May specialize in particular area of quality control engineering, such as design, incoming material, process control, product evaluation, inventory control, product reliability, research and development, and administrative application.
  • May provide technical guidance to lower level engineers, technicians, and inspectors
  • Work independently and manage multiple tasks including assignment of proper prioritization while maintaining strict attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exercise initiative and work well under pressure. Completes assignments that are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.

 

JOB KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution, college or university.

Experience:  8+ years of experience in area of specialization.  


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Lead auditor certification or equivalent

  • Pre-placement Drug Screening
