Position Summary

RSI is currently recruiting for Construction Engineer I. This is an entry level position. This position is located at the Los Alamos National lab.

  • Provides support to more experienced construction engineering personnel by performing routine entry level construction engineering assignments.
  • This project has moved past the design phase and is moving into the installation and construction phase.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Performs routine entry level construction engineering assignments as directed.
  • Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility construction and installation.
  • Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline.
  • Provides construction and project support.
  • Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of engineering analyses.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Utilizes engineering technology to accomplish work.
  • Duties may include preparation of calculations, drawings, data sheets, specifications, reports, reviews, studies and estimates (both material and engineering man-hour) working as an integral part of a project team.
  • Typical drawings may include one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, lighting/power plans, installation details, feeder/circuit sizing, and conduit/cable schedules.
  • The Engineer may conduct drawing searches in engineering records and will perform field investigation and walkdown work as required.

 

 

Job Knowledge/Qualifications

  • This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities. This DOE Order establishes entry-level requirements to ensure employees in the positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
  • DoD and DoE experience is preferred
  • Work may be required outside normal business hours and sometimes on short notice
  • NQA1, glovebox systems, electrical and manufacturing experience a plus

 

Required Education and Experience

  • B.S Degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited college or university and 1-2 years of applicable progressive experience, degree may be substituted for experience

 

 

Clearance and Health Regiments

  • Q Clearance preferred but at a minimum must have ability to qualify for a Q clearance.
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Pre-placement Drug Screening
